MENTORSHIP & ARTIST SUPPORT

Where creative process meets lived experience. We offer mentorship, strategic support, and values-based development for independent creatives.

WHO THIS IS FOR

We work with emerging and mid-career artists especially performers, writers, comedians, slashies, and those forging their own creative paths who are navigating:

  • How to shape, fund, or tour a creative work

  • How to write a grant that feels honest and compelling

  • How to hold your practice alongside motherhood, care work, or burnout

  • How to lead your own creative evolution

  • How to keep going (or pivot) in an arts sector shaped by inequity and overwork

  • How to find your place - and your pace - as a culturally diverse artist, a carer, or someone working outside the usual script

You might be just starting out.

Or 10 years in, and reimagining everything.

Either way you're welcome here.

WHAT THIS SPACE OFFERS

This isn’t a coaching package with polished promises.

This is practical support, real experience, and grounded strategy.

Led by Josipa Draisma performer, writer, producer, and Artistic Director of In Wild Company this support draws on over 15 years of experience navigating the creative sector with humour, honesty, and critical reflection.

Depending on your needs, we might:

  • Map your next creative or career steps

  • Workshop a show idea, EOI, or festival plan

  • Review a grant or funding strategy

  • Unpack burnout or creative blocks

  • Strategise how to lead - quietly or loudly - in today’s climate

  • Talk openly about class, race, motherhood, and making art through it all

Not as a coach.

As a peer.

As a mentor.

As someone who’s walked a version of your path - and is still walking it.

Is this coaching?
Not in the traditional sense.
There are no formulas, no hype, and no false promises here.

This is space  to reflect, strategise, ask questions, and build something that feels more sustainable.

What can I bring into the session?
Anything you’re navigating as an artist or creative worker. Common themes include:

  • Touring or producing your own show

  • Building a multi-hyphenate creative career

  • Writing a grant (or recovering from writing one)

  • Creative block, burnout, or self-doubt

  • Navigating the “slashie” identity

  • Questions around motherhood, class, culture, or care

  • Building a slow, intentional practice in a fast, extractive industry

You don’t need to have it all figured out the point is, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Who is this for?
This space is designed for emerging and mid-career artists especially performers, writers, producers, comedians, and multidisciplinary artists working at the margins.
It’s especially relevant for:

  • Artists in their first 1–10 years of practice

  • Culturally diverse creatives

  • Mothers and carers

  • Artists navigating class, culture, and care in their work and life

How much does it cost?
We offer support on a sliding scale, depending on your circumstances and the type of session.

You’ll receive an info pack once we’ve received your Expression of Interest. If cost is a barrier, just let us know we’re committed to access and will do our best to accommodate.

Where do sessions take place?
Most sessions are held via Zoom or phone.
Occasionally, in-person sessions are available across Greater Western Sydney.

Just ask.

How long is a session?
Standard 1:1 sessions run for 60 minutes.
Group sessions, project check-ins or deep dives may run longer full details will be in your info pack.

Will I get ongoing support?
We offer one-off sessions, small packages, or short arcs of support. There’s no long-term lock-in but if it makes sense to continue, we’ll work that out together.
We may also refer you to trusted collaborators, programs, or opportunities depending on your needs.

What this is not:

  • Therapy

  • Corporate career coaching

  • A branding or content strategy package
